UNPRODUCED FAMIGLIA

MATRICE

2022

Limestone, animal fur, silk, copper, glass, acrilic.

Wall lamp composed of a limestone and quartz wall canopy, which is connected to 3 suspended lighting sources.

The glass cannulas house the LED and they are wrapped with a shader made of animal hair, specifically the tail hair of a female Lagotto dog knotted by hand.
Specific dog breeds has been created by humans with specific characteristics, such as particular types of fur.
The fur of this breed never stops growing, completely compromising their hypothetical existence without humans. Even a trivial aspect like a haircut prevents these breeds from surviving in the wild.
The three luminous elements are powered by thin silk-coated conductors, connected to the wall canopy. As the umbilical cord in mammals feeds the embryo, the conductors feed the sources of light.
The “fuzz” covers the light sources and radiates it in the desired direction.

‘Matrice’ is a reflection on light as the primary source of life.
